Best of Intentions

Okay, so I have a new plan to keep up with the ol' blog.  After months of bedtime slowly slipping later and later - a year ago, it was 7pm and nowadays MP2 is frequently calling to us from his room as late as 9 or 9:30 - we're now on day six of no daytime nap.  As with all of this parenting jazz, it's definitely a mixed bag.  But, as of now anyways, we're calling it in favor of the pros over the cons.  Days are a bit long - and keeping MP2 occupied/quiet while NC gets a nap in can be a bit of a challenge, but I am definitely loving having some time back in the evenings.  So, maybe it's also going to buy me time and energy for blogging :)

So, you know how everyone our age says that there are a million photos of whoever is the first child in their family, and none of subsequent siblings?  The 2010s version of that is blog fodder.  I was going back and reading about MP2's baby-hood and realize we have some catching up to do for little NC.  Not to mention, keeping up with MP2's new adventures as well.  Interwebs, I wish you could hold me accountable!

MP2 is still completely obsessed with country music.  He has a little radio in his room and he loves listening to the WSM.  Too bad today's country hits are abysmal, nothing like back in my day :)  I wish that one of you could be pushing him through Target when he starts singing "Drink in my Hand" - maybe you'd be able to handle the old lady stares without a chuckle!  He's also so into playing outside, cars, trains, numbers, letters, and his buddies.  I love seeing his little brain soak up everything going on around him - seasons, passing time, reading, math, rhyming, joking.  It's unbelievable.  He also loves acting out his favorite stories (Thomas the Train books) with his toys.  I can't believe he's nearly four years old already.

NC is not too shabby herself.  We have a theory around here that she just wasn't so into being an infant.  I mean who can blame her, right?  Ever since she started solids around 5.5 months, and started sitting unassisted about a month later, we've seen huge changes in her.  She will amuse herself for short periods of time (which is a big improvement) and she is SO interactive.  She cracks up at us, is always smiling, has started in the past few weeks squealing and screeching all the time.  There is no one she loves more than her big brother.  It's so sweet to watch.  One of our favorite times of day is right when she wakes up in the morning - she greets each of us with so much excitement and love.

Now...on to our regularly scheduled photo dump.  Here's a glimpse of life around here in January and February.

More to come soon.  We're looking forward to an exciting next couple of months with a trip to NYC/CT coming up in a couple of weeks and a trip with Nana + Papa to the beach in mid-May.  Hopefully, I will be able to stay on top of things for awhile now.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Am I talking about Spring?!?  NOPE - Christmas...of course.  Just when the holidays have finally become a distant memory for you folks, and instead, you're thinking of Easter and gardens and Spring Break, here I am, just getting around to my December update!  As usual, this is more a photo dump than an actual update.  One day, friends...one day.
